Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle, for the whole day. The 4,495 SEK Uppsala day costs the same for one guest or three, and six friends in a van pay 5,495 SEK between them, not each. This is the main way private touring differs from a coach seat, and it is why parties of four and above usually find private hire costs less per head than a group tour once tickets and lunch are counted.
Are entrance tickets included?
No. Palace, castle and museum entry, boat fares and meals are paid directly by you. We tell you the expected total at booking so it is not a surprise on the day, and your driver will buy tickets for you if you would rather not queue. We keep tickets out of the price deliberately — bundling them means marking them up, and you can often get free or reduced entry with a Stockholm Pass or a student card that we cannot pass on.
Do I get a guide or a driver?
A driver, and we would rather be plain about it. Our drivers are licensed professionals with strong local knowledge — they will explain what you are looking at, recommend where to eat and know when the coach parties reach each stop. They are not certified guides with formal historical training. A certified guide can be arranged for an additional fee, and is genuinely worth it at Drottningholm and Gamla Uppsala where the history rewards someone who knows it properly.
Can I change the itinerary during the day?
Yes, and most people do. Within the hours you have booked the day is yours — stay longer at somewhere that turned out to be worth it, skip a stop, add lunch by the water instead. Your driver will tell you honestly what still fits. Running beyond the booked hours is charged at the hourly rate and agreed with you before the clock runs on, never afterwards.
Can you build a tour around a long layover at Arlanda?
Yes. Five hours comfortably allows Sigtuna, fourteen kilometres from Terminal 5. Six hours or more opens up Uppsala or central Stockholm. We build backwards from your onward departure and hold a firm return time with the check-in margin already inside it, because the entire point is that you make the connection. Bags stay in the car, so you do not need to clear them into storage first.
Which tour is best in winter?
Sigtuna, Uppsala, Stockholm city and Dalarna all work year round, and several are better — Sigtuna under snow with no coach parties is one of the nicer things in the region. Birka closes entirely because the boat does not run, Skokloster is booked groups only from October to May, and Drottningholm's interiors are weekends only on reduced hours. Plan for short daylight: December gives roughly 09:00 to 14:45, so we start earlier and finish before dark.
Do you run multi-day tours across Sweden?
Yes, from 5,995 SEK per day in a Standard sedan with the same driver throughout, which matters more than people expect by day three. Common routes are Stockholm to Dalarna and back, the Göta Canal corridor toward Gothenburg, and the southern castle country of Skåne. Accommodation is booked by you or by us on request. Driver overnight costs are shown separately rather than folded into the day rate.
How far in advance should I book a tour?
A week where you can. A tour commits a driver and vehicle for a whole day, so availability is genuinely tighter than for transfers — particularly June through August, around Midsummer, and in December. Shorter notice is often fine outside those periods, and a layover tour can sometimes be arranged the day before. Custom multi-day itineraries want two to three weeks.
