How long does it take to get from Arlanda to Solna?
25 to 35 minutes. Solna is the first municipality south of the Stockholm boundary on the E4 and is closer to the airport than the city centre — between 31 km at Järva krog and 38 km at Solna strand. Allow an extra 15 to 20 minutes for a weekday afternoon arrival, when the southbound E4 slows through the Järva krog interchange, and a little more in snow. We build that into the quote rather than leaving it to chance.
How much is a transfer from Arlanda to Solna?
From 620 SEK per vehicle in an Economy sedan and from 790 SEK in a Standard Mercedes E-Class, both for up to three guests with luggage. Because Solna spans about seven kilometres, the price varies by district: roughly 600 SEK to Järva krog, 620 to Arenastaden, 640 to Solna centrum, 665 to Karolinska and 675 to Solna strand. These are starting-from prices, calculated as a base fare plus a per-kilometre rate — for Economy, 255 SEK plus 11 SEK per km, rounded up to the nearest 5 SEK — subject to a 445 SEK minimum fare, and fixed in writing before you book.
Is the airport coach cheaper than a transfer?
Yes, and Solna is the one route where we will actively point you at it. The Flygbussarna airport coach stops at Järva krog, Frösunda and Haga Norra — all inside Solna — from 99 SEK per person, roughly every twenty minutes, with no station passage fee. If you are travelling light and your address is near one of those three, take the coach. It stops being the answer once you are carrying luggage, travelling as four or more, arriving late at night, or heading anywhere else in Solna, which is most of it.
Is the commuter train cheaper?
For one or two people, yes. An SL single ticket is 43 SEK, but the Arlanda station passage fee adds 147 SEK, so the real cost is about 190 SEK per adult for a roughly 30-minute ride to Solna station. Two adults pay about 380 SEK and four about 760 SEK, which is more than our 620 SEK car. Where the train genuinely shines is Arenastaden — Solna station sits beside the arena and the mall. It is Karolinska, Solna strand and everywhere off the rail line where it stops working.
Where exactly does the driver meet me?
Inside the arrivals hall of your terminal, holding a board with your name — not at a rank and not in a car park. Terminal 5 for SAS, Star Alliance and most long-haul, Terminal 2 for oneworld, SkyTeam and several low-cost carriers, Terminal 4 for domestic. Terminal 3 is closed. You get your driver's name, photo and mobile number by message before you land.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Nothing that costs you money. We track the flight number rather than the clock, so the pickup moves with the aircraft whether you are twenty minutes late or four hours late. Free waiting is 60 minutes from touchdown on Schengen arrivals and 90 minutes on intercontinental, which covers passport control and the baggage belt comfortably. There is no surge pricing and no rebooking fee for a delay.
Do you drive to Karolinska University Hospital and Karolinska Institutet?
Yes, and to the specific numbered entrance rather than the site in general. Karolinska in Solna is a very large hospital and research campus, and the walk from the wrong entrance to the right one is a real one when someone is travelling for treatment or arriving to be with family. Give us the ingång or the building at booking. For patients travelling with medical equipment or limited mobility, tell us and we send a suitable vehicle. Karolinska is also one of the addresses public transport serves worst, which is why it is the most common Solna booking we take.
Can you handle transfers for events at Strawberry Arena?
Yes. The arena at Arenastaden — called Friends Arena until July 2024 — seats about 50,000 for football and up to 65,000 for a concert, hosts Melodifestivalen every year, and is the home of the Sweden men's national team and AIK. An event night moves a great many people through one commuter station at once. We price those evenings on the ordinary rate card — there is no surge — and the vehicle is held from the moment you book. Groups above six travel in a Sprinter; above fourteen we run a convoy of matched cars arriving together.
Do you offer corporate accounts for Solna businesses?
Yes. Monthly invoicing with cost-centre and reference-code tagging on every line, a named account contact, priority allocation on repeat routes, and pre-agreed rates for the addresses you use most — Arenastaden, Solna Business Park, Frösunda, Solna strand and the Solna centrum hotels. For its size Solna carries an unusual concentration of head offices, and visitor, candidate and auditor arrivals are the bookings we handle most often there.
How far ahead should I book?
Twenty-four hours guarantees the vehicle class you want. Solna's demand comes in spikes rather than a steady flow — an international at the arena, a concert, Melodifestivalen, a large conference at Karolinska — and on those evenings the cars go early. Same-day requests are taken whenever one is free; inside a few hours, call dispatch rather than booking online and we will tell you straight away what is available.
